Proof, not promises

We publish real books. Here's the first one we made – and exactly what we did.

The Adventures of Space and Time is FossPress's own first title – a STEM chapter book for ages 7–9. We built it end to end to prove the platform on ourselves before asking anyone else to trust it. Every link below is live. Click any of them.

A straight answer up front: this is our book, written under our house pen name Karl P.J. Hobbes – not a paying author's. We're showing you what the platform did for its own first title because it's the one launch we can document with nothing hidden. When real authors publish with us, their proof pages will look like this one.

From manuscript to three formats you can buy today

We took one manuscript and turned it into a Kindle eBook, a paperback and a hardcover – each with its own ISBN, cover and live Amazon listing. Not a PDF. Not “coming soon.” Books a stranger can order right now.

Real readers left real reviews

The book holds ★★★★★ 5.0 across its Amazon reviews and has its own Goodreads listing – the same discovery surfaces every new book lives or dies on.

“The story of The Adventure of Time & Space is an imaginative and funny book full of colourful and exciting space-y things. It has a fantastic cast of characters and a plot that explores the values of friendship, collaboration and individual strengths.”
– Amazon reviewer · Amazon
“My nephew was quickly enjoying the book and it made him ask even more questions... a great adventure tale.”
– Goodreads reviewer · Goodreads

Coverage we earned, not bought

A brand-new book is invisible by default. We got Space and Time in front of the exact audiences that matter – home educators and young-science communities – through editorial, not ads:

Set up for bookshops, not just Amazon

The hardback is on IngramSpark and orderable by any UK bookshop through Gardners, on sale-or-return – the terms an indie shop actually needs to say yes. We built the trade rail so the book can sit on a physical shelf, not only in a search result.

A front door built for readers

The book has its own listing page, live social channels (X @spacetimebook and a Facebook page) and a free first chapter plus a printable STEM activity pack – a lead magnet that turns a curious visitor into a reader. That's the same launch kit every FossPress author gets.

“Couldn’t I just do this myself on Amazon KDP?”

You could — and if you want to run every step yourself, KDP is a solid, free way to do it. FossPress is for authors who’d rather write the next book than become their own publisher, cover designer, marketer and distributor. Here’s the honest difference.

The short version: KDP is free, but free means you do everything and you’re on your own. FossPress is also £0 upfront — the difference is a team runs the launch, opens the channels, and only earns a share when your book actually sells. You keep your copyright either way.
